e-Responsibility

e-Responsibility is a term to describe all the facets of being a responsible and positive digital citizen.

Personal Safety
  • refers to the student's own well-being
  • sharing of personal information
  • being careful of what is posted
  • knowing how to report abuse if necessary
  • recognising potentially dangerous situations
  • private vs public social networking profiles

Social Responsibility
  • understanding obligations in social networking
  • taking responsibility for own actions
  • protecting others privacy
  • awareness of etiquette in online environments

Legal Implications

  • obtaining parental permission for social networking sites with age restrictions
  • understanding and awareness of copyright and intellectual property
  • consequences of misuse/abuse
